Florida Incident-Based Reporting System (FIBRS) Offense Detail

One row per reporting agency per month, beginning January 2021 and running through the most recent month FDLE has verified. Publication lags the present, and the workbook is a rolling file rather than a set of fixed annual releases, so early months are stable while the newest ones arrive over time.

Participating agencies increase across the series, from 129 in 2021 to 230 in 2025. An agency absent from a year is absent from the data for that year; it is not zero.

Florida agencies largely report through the state's own system rather than submitting the summary returns that supply national coverage, so without this source Florida would be thinly represented. FIBRS supplies the Florida contribution to the Crime Index and the offense rates beneath it.

Agencies are named rather than coded, so each is matched to the Florida municipality it polices; 112 agencies are matched, and county, tribal and unmatched agencies are left out. Florida values enter the comparison only for years the national series also covers, so the Florida window is currently shorter than the workbook itself.

FDLE's forcible sex offense category is not defined identically to the FBI's rape category. It is held separately and is not part of the crime index.
